Τάρταρος, λήιον, ὕλη, ἆήρ, λαῖλαψ, etc.; met., τὸν δ' ἄχος ὀξὺ κατὰ φρένα τύψε βαθεῖαν, ‘in the depths’ of his heart, altamente, Il. 19.125.
